BIO

Lucas Waterbury Enríquez
Producer. Songwriter. Musician
Based in Medellín & Berlin

I was born into a family of Colombian musicians and have been surrounded by music my entire life. I was born in California, but grew up in both the United States and Colombia. My grandfather, Jaime Enríquez Miranda, a Colombian composer and singer/songwriter, co-founded the bolero group Los Románticos. Family events in Pasto and Medellín, Colombia always become impromptu jam sessions. It was at one of these events when I was eight that my uncle handed me his guitar and I played my first few notes. From then on I started taking guitar and voice lessons.

At 14, I was introduced to the production side of music by my guitar teacher Luke Bace (@LakeCube). After I moved to Medellín, Colombia at the age of 15, I joined a senior vocal ensemble as a Tenor and began piano lessons. With the vocal ensemble, I performed throughout the city for three years. I also started taking classes in music production and music theory under the tutelage of multi grammy winning Jose Miguel Juvinao . With him I developed projects ranging from electronic to pop, jazz, R&B, and classical.

Beginning in 2020, I released 3 tracks in completely different genres. I co-wrote and co-produced the song «Déjame Volver Contigo» with my grandfather. I converted this previously unreleased bolero style song into bossa nova. Later that year, I released on Progressive Vibes Records, a self produced, self engineered dance track entitled In Motion. In 2022, I released a guitar heavy song that I co-produced and wrote with Daniel Echandía and @StaffMusical entitled Give me a sign.

In 2023, I released my first EP entitled Acústico, a collection of 3 acoustic songs that I wrote, produced, and performed.

Today, I am based in Berlin where I continue to produce music that combines genres, styles, instruments and sounds. I am currently studying Creative Audio Production at Catalyst Institute for the Creative Arts.
